Pakistan, July 27 -- The Lahore High Court (LHC) has ruled that civil courts cannot directly hear disputes involving suspicious citizenship claims linked to NADRA, directing applicants to first use the legal procedures provided under the Pakistan Citizenship Act, 1951. In a detailed 14-page judgment, Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani said individuals must first approach the NADRA Verification Board and other relevant legal forums before filing constitutional petitions or civil suits. The ruling establishes a new legal framework for handling citizenship disputes.
