Pakistan, Sept. 11 -- The Lahore High Court (LHC) has barred Punjab medical colleges from expelling Afghan students during an ongoing legal dispute. Justice Khalid Ishaq issued the order on Friday. He was hearing petitions filed by more than 30 Afghan medical students. The students challenged decisions that could force them to leave their medical colleges. The court also directed colleges not to cancel their examination papers. Further proceedings will continue next Friday.

During the hearing, the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council defended its position on the students' documentation. Its lawyer said the students lacked required documents under the applicable rules. ...
