Pakistan, July 27 -- Lahore Qalandars have released Pakistan batter Abdullah Shafique from their Global Super League (GSL) squad to allow him to join the national Test team ahead of the ongoing series against the West Indies.

Shafique had been representing Lahore Qalandars in the Global Super League in Guyana but has now left the tournament to travel to Trinidad and Tobago, where he will link up with Pakistan's Test squad.

To fill the vacant spot, Lahore Qalandars have signed Bangladesh batter Shamim Hossain for the remainder of the competition.
