Pakistan, Sept. 2 -- The Suthra Punjab Authority (SPA) has launched an e-challan system to control littering in Lahore. The pilot project covers 200 commercial markets and major roads across the city. These include The Mall, Jail Road and Ferozepur Road. Initially, 25 teams have started monitoring public places and warning people against littering. SPA CEO Shehryar Arif Khan said the enforcement staff includes 75 personnel. He said 50 staff members have divided into two field and supervising teams.

September will serve as a grace period for people violating cleanliness rules. Teams will issue warnings instead of imposing fines. Formal penalties will begin from October 1....
