Pakistan, Sept. 23 -- In a significant development in one of Pakistan's most closely watched legal battles, the Lahore High Court has declined to suspend the judgment and decree passed in favour of singer and actor Ali Zafar in his defamation suit against Meesha Shafi.
The Court confined the interim relief to the damages amount alone and made even that protection conditional.
The order was passed by a Division Bench on 4 May 2026 in Regular First Appeal No. 26162 of 2026, Meesha Shafi v Ali Zafar. It means the trial court's findings in Ali Zafar's favour continue to hold the field while the appeal is pending.
