Pakistan, June 26 -- Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi on Thursday visited the central 9th Muharram procession originating from Naeem Shah Chowk Saddar and reviewed security arrangements put in place for Muharram-ul-Haram.

The Governor lauded the efforts of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police, civil administration, and religious leaders from both Shia and Sunni communities for ensuring effective arrangements for the sacred month.

Talking to media representatives, he said the police had made excellent security arrangements across the province, particularly in Peshawar, to ensure that Muharram and Youm-e-Ashur passed in a peaceful environment.
