Pakistan, June 18 -- The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Police have announced the establishment of a Special Combat Unit (SCU), a newly structured strike force designed to carry out intelligence-based targeted operations against terrorists elements across the province.

According to an official statement issued from the office of Inspector General of Police Zulfiqar Hameed, the initiative has been approved by the KP Police Policy Board and formal rules and regulations for the unit have now been finalized. The force will consist of 400 specially selected personnel drawn from the police's elite units.
