Pakistan, Sept. 20 -- Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Khan Afridi on Saturday paid rich tribute to the police department, Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), security forces Rescue 1122 and district administration for foiling the terrorist attack on Old Police Lines after a 20-hour-long gun battle.

Addressing police officials in Kohat, he offered prayers for the departed souls and early recovery of the injured policemen and civilians, and offered condolence to the bereaved families. He said the sacrifices of the martyrs would never go in vain.

The Chief Minister assured full support to the police force and announced the purchase of modern equipment and infrastructure development.
