Pakistan, July 8 -- Details of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Members (Salaries, Allowances and Privileges) Amendment Act 2026, approved three months ago, have now been made public. Under the proposed KP Assembly privileges bill, lawmakers will receive several new benefits, including exemption from toll taxes, recommendations for blue passports for themselves and their spouses, and free accommodation at government rest houses for a limited period.

According to the amendment, all members of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly will be exempt from paying toll taxes across the province. The bill also recommends that the federal government issue lifetime official blue passports to provincial lawmakers and their spouses.
