Pakistan, May 12 -- The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly on Monday unanimously passed a condemnation resolution against the brutal killing of Maulana Muhammad Idris in Charsadda, demanding the immediate arrest of those involved and strict punishment for the perpetrators.

Presenting the resolution, Adnan Khan of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam said that the House strongly condemned the murder of the prominent religious scholar, former MPA, provincial patron of JUI, and member of the party's central consultative council, Sheikh-ul-Hadith Maulana Muhammad Idris.

The resolution called on the provincial government to immediately arrest the accused, punish them according to the law, and take effective measures to prevent such incidents in the future.
