Pakistan, June 27 -- Defence Minister Khawaja Asif on Pakistan's role in Iran-US war said the country's efforts during the recent conflict would be remembered for generations. Speaking to the media in Sialkot, he said Pakistan played an important part in promoting peace and helping ease tensions between Iran and the United States.

Khawaja Asif said Ashura has come at a time when the region recently witnessed a major conflict. He added that the Iranian people had once again reflected the spirit and sacrifice associated with Imam Hussain (AS) and the martyrs of Karbala.
