Pakistan, July 28 -- Defence Minister Khawaja Asif on Tuesday alleged that India-backed elements were involved in ongoing protests in Azad Jammu and Kashmir. He said authorities were continuing actions against individuals linked to the unrest.

Speaking about the situation, Khawaja Asif thanked the people of Azad Jammu and Kashmir. He claimed that certain groups behind the protests were being supported by foreign actors.

The defence minister said the language used by some protesters could not represent patriotic Pakistanis. He added that such statements would not be acceptable regardless of ethnic or regional identity.
