Pakistan, Sept. 20 -- Important legislation concerning the Center for Countering Violent Extremism in Punjab has been enacted, a gazette notification for the "Punjab Center of Excellence on Countering Violent Extremism (Amendment) Act, 2026" has been issued on Saturday.

Under the amendment, the Punjab Center of Excellence on 'Countering Violent Extremism' has been granted formal corporate legal status. Following the amendment, the Center is now authorised to enter into agreements in its own name and has acquired the legal authority to acquire movable and immovable property.
