Pakistan, Oct. 9 -- A major scandal has emerged at the University of Karachi over the alleged irregular passing of around 150 failed law students. The students were reportedly declared successful after a scrutiny process that raised questions about university rules. The case has drawn attention to the Karachi University failed students scandal and the role of senior officials.
According to sources, acting Vice Chancellor Dr Tufail Jokhio approved the process after a written recommendation from the Dean of Law. The former permanent vice chancellor, Dr Khalid Iraqi, had earlier rejected the scrutiny proposal. Sources said around 150 students from SM Law College and Islamia Law College had initially failed in at least two subjects.
