Pakistan, May 21 -- Police in Karachi have arrested a car driver accused of fleeing the scene after a fatal traffic accident that killed a food delivery rider in the city's Defence area earlier this month.

According to South SSP Investigation Touheed Rehman, the suspect was taken into custody after an investigation into the incident registered at Gizri police station on May 10.

Police said the accused, identified as Hamza Shameem, allegedly lost control of his speeding vehicle and struck a motorcycle ridden by a delivery worker employed by a private food company. The rider, identified as Zeeshan, died as a result of the collision.
