Pakistan, Aug. 12 -- Indian actor and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut has criticised veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah after he questioned the silence of celebrities over recent student protests in Jharkhand.

Shah had expressed disappointment with prominent public figures who had not spoken about the demonstrations, saying celebrities would respond when their conscience prompted them. His comments triggered a sharp response from Ranaut.

Ranaut addressed the issue through Instagram Stories, sharing a post by actor Piyush Mishra while adding her own remarks about loyalty, patriotism and the responsibility of public figures to speak on important issues.
