Pakistan, June 29 -- Pakistani actress Javeria Abbasi has spoken out against what she describes as society's tendency to judge confident, independent and successful women more harshly than men, calling for greater respect for women's personal choices and ambitions.

Speaking in a recent interview, the actress said she finds it difficult to understand why women who believe in themselves, pursue their goals and strive to build successful lives are often subjected to criticism instead of encouragement.
