Pakistan, Oct. 4 -- Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi protested to the United States on Sunday after a US Marine faced arrest over an alleged murder in Okinawa.
Devin Jacob Ballard, 20, allegedly killed Anna Yagi, 39, at a hotel in Naha on Saturday. Police said he also took her wallet and backpack, while Ballard denied the allegations.
Takaichi called the incident extremely regrettable and demanded full US cooperation with the investigation. She also urged Washington to strengthen discipline among its personnel and take steps to prevent similar incidents.
Meanwhile, the US embassy and Marine Corps expressed
