Pakistan, Aug. 15 -- At least nine people were killed in Israeli strikes across southern Lebanon on Saturday, Lebanon's state news reported. Seven people died after Israeli warplanes struck a house in Ansar, while two others were killed in Deir El Zahrani.

The attacks also injured 11 people and ranked among the deadliest strikes since Lebanon agreed to a US-mediated peace framework. The framework requires Israeli forces to remain in southern Lebanon until Hezbollah disarms and the Lebanese army assumes control.
