Pakistan, May 8 -- Israeli airstrikes in Gaza have reportedly killed at least nine Palestinians despite an existing ceasefire, according to health authorities in the territory.

Officials in Gaza said the latest attacks took place on Thursday, including an airstrike targeting a security post that resulted in the deaths of at least two Palestinian police officers.

The Gaza Health Ministry said a total of nine people were killed and 39 others injured in Israeli attacks over the past 24 hours. The ministry added that rescue efforts remain difficult as several victims are still believed to be trapped under rubble or lying in inaccessible areas.
