Pakistan, Oct. 1 -- Israel has vowed to investigate an apparent attempt to crash a flydubai passenger plane. Officials said no motive has been established for the incident so far. An initial assessment suggested the co-pilot acted alone.

The incident occurred Wednesday on flydubai flight FZ1073 from Dubai to Tel Aviv. The captain managed to unlock the cockpit door after sustaining injuries. Passengers then subdued the co-pilot and helped prevent a potential disaster.

A reserve crew aboard the aircraft took control and landed the plane safely. The aircraft landed at Saudi Arabia's Tabuk airport with more than 170 people aboard. Israeli officials said Saudi authorities are investigating the co-pilot.
