Pakistan, Aug. 19 -- Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar praised outgoing UN Resident Coordinator Mohamed Yahya for strengthening cooperation between Pakistan and the United Nations during his tenure.

Dar received Yahya for a farewell meeting in Islamabad and appreciated his contributions to closer Pakistan-UN relations. He also acknowledged the work of the UN Country Team under Yahya's leadership.

During the meeting, Dar congratulated Yahya on his appointment as Assistant Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Deputy Emergency Relief Coordinator at the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs.
