Pakistan, April 22 -- Iran has condemned the United States for seizing an Iranian commercial vessel in the Sea of Oman, calling the move an act of piracy. The Iranian envoy to the United Nations urged the Security Council to hold Washington accountable. The dispute escalates tensions and raises concerns over maritime security and international law.

In a letter to UN Secretary-General António Guterres and the Security Council president, Iran's ambassador Saeed Iravani described the incident as unlawful. He said US forces targeted the vessel "Toska" using coercion and intimidation. Furthermore, he claimed the crew and their families were placed at serious risk during the operation.
