Pakistan, Aug. 18 -- Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps has said no talks are currently taking place with the United States. IRGC spokesman Brigadier General Hossein Mahdavi said Tehran was not engaged in direct or indirect negotiations with Washington.

Speaking in Tehran, Mahdavi said diplomatic affairs remained the responsibility of Iran's Foreign Ministry and other relevant institutions. He said no negotiations were taking place through diplomatic channels either. According to him, the absence of talks resulted from alleged US violations of previous commitments.
