Pakistan, Aug. 19 -- Iran has rejected the UAE's claim that Tehran launched two ballistic missiles toward its territory. Tehran called the allegation baseless and warned it could increase regional tensions.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei strongly denied the accusation and expressed regret over the UAE's statement. He said such claims could undermine efforts to build trust among regional countries.

The UAE Ministry of Defence said its air defence systems detected two ballistic missiles launched from Iran. Both missiles reportedly fell into the sea without hitting their intended target.
