Pakistan, Aug. 22 -- Iran has rejected the legal basis of US secondary sanctions, saying countries cannot restrict third-party trade. Tehran said the measures violate international law.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei made the remarks while criticizing Washington's latest economic pressure on Tehran. His comments targeted sanctions affecting foreign entities trading with Iran.
Baghaei said the US measures extend beyond economic pressure against Iran alone. He argued that countries should not prevent foreign institutions from conducting legitimate trade with third countries.
