Pakistan, Aug. 10 -- Iran's Foreign Ministry said Monday that a new defence pact among Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Turkiye reflected changing regional perceptions of the United States.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei described the agreement as a sign that regional countries were reassessing their security relationships. He made the remarks during his weekly press conference in Tehran.

Baqaei said countries across the region were increasingly seeking security through their own capabilities. He said regional states were becoming less dependent on external powers for security arrangements.
