Pakistan, May 16 -- Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi on Saturday mocked the economic impact of the ongoing conflict on the United States. He shared data on rising US Treasury bond yields and suggested the war is increasing financial pressure on the American economy. His remarks added a sharp political tone to ongoing regional tensions.
Araghchi said Americans are being told they must bear the rising costs of a self-inflicted war against Iran. He added that higher fuel prices and stock market pressure are only part of the problem. Moreover, he warned that the real strain will come from rising debt and mortgage rates.
