Pakistan, April 22 -- Iran has executed a senior security official after convicting him of spying for Israel, according to the country's judiciary. The case has intensified scrutiny over Tehran's internal security measures and raised fresh human rights concerns internationally.
The judiciary said Mehdi Farid, a former director in a sensitive defence-related body, was found guilty of passing classified information to Israel's Mossad. Officials alleged he used cyberspace channels to establish contact and leak sensitive intelligence data.
