Pakistan, Aug. 16 -- Iran's embassy in South Africa has claimed White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt resigned after a disagreement with US President Donald Trump, but Washington rejected the allegation.

The embassy made the claim on social media while discussing reports about Leavitt's departure, accusing Trump of abandoning officials while protecting himself from potential threats.

The statement appeared to refer to reports that Trump was secretly moved from Air Force One to a smaller military aircraft during his return from Turkey.

The White House dismissed the Iranian embassy's allegations as false and said Leavitt was not travelling with Trump during his Turkey visit, rejecting the reported connection.
