Pakistan, Aug. 14 -- Iran has given general approval to a strategic action plan for managing and safeguarding the Strait of Hormuz. The plan also covers the wider Persian Gulf.

The development was reported by Iranian media, according to Al Jazeera. Valiullah Bayati, spokesperson for Iran's Parliamentary Committee on Councils, confirmed the committee reviewed the proposed plan.
