Pakistan, Sept. 21 -- Apple has introduced a new battery feature with the iPhone 18 Pro Max. The phone ships with its battery capacity temporarily limited to below 20 watt-hours (Wh). The restriction helps Apple meet shipping requirements in many countries and regions.

The limitation does not mean the phone has a smaller battery. Apple says the iPhone 18 Pro Max has a battery capacity above 20Wh. The company uses firmware to keep the battery below the threshold while the device travels from the factory.

The restriction ends automatically when users activate the iPhone. The phone then makes its full charging capacity available without requiring a manual setting. Apple also says the battery remains safe for shipping and air travel.
