Pakistan, June 18 -- A powerful 6.7-magnitude earthquake struck Indonesia's Sulawesi island on Tuesday, killing one person and injuring dozens more. The quake caused damage to homes, infrastructure, and public buildings across parts of Central Sulawesi province. Local authorities are assessing the impact as affected communities begin recovery efforts.
According to Indonesia's geophysics , BMKG, the earthquake occurred Tuesday morning. The epicentre was located about 42 kilometres southeast of the city of Palu at a depth of 10 kilometres. Despite its strength, officials confirmed that the quake did not trigger a tsunami warning.
