Srinagar, April 27 -- Authorities in Jammu and Kashmir have declared a seminary in Shopian district an unlawful entity under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA). The move includes orders to seize its assets, citing alleged links to a banned organisation and multiple irregularities.
The order was issued by Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Anshul Garg based on intelligence inputs and a police dossier. Officials said the institution, Darul Uloom Jamia Siraj-ul-Uloom, is allegedly connected to the banned Jamaat-e-Islami Jammu and Kashmir and its affiliate trust.
