Pakistan, Sept. 10 -- India will host the BRICS Leaders' Summit on September 12 and 13 amid divisions over the Iran war. Leaders will seek a joint position despite growing differences within the expanded bloc.
The conflict has placed Iran and the United Arab Emirates on opposing sides. Iran joined BRICS in 2024, while the UAE suspended trade and financial transactions with Tehran in August.
The war has also disrupted shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, a major oil trade route. The disruption has pushed crude prices above $100 per barrel and raised concerns about energy supplies.
