Pakistan, Aug. 15 -- India's Reliance Industries and Britain's Rolls-Royce plan to jointly develop and manufacture engines for India's fighter jet programme. The partnership aims to strengthen domestic defence production.
The companies announced their strategic partnership on Friday for India's Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft programme. The planned engines will support the country's indigenous fifth-generation multirole fighter.

The companies did not disclose the investment planned for the partnership. They said the project would develop capabilities covering engine design, manufacturing and delivery.
