Pakistan, Oct. 6 -- India, Qatar and South Africa are among seven countries seeking to host the 2036 Summer Olympics.

Germany, Hungary, Turkiye and South Korea complete the current list released by the International Olympic Committee. Other interested nations have until October 31 to formally declare their bids.

The IOC Executive Board will create a shortlist in March 2027 before the remaining candidates enter talks with the Olympic body. Officials will assess factors including funding, political backing and public support when considering each bid.
