Pakistan, Sept. 29 -- On the first day of formal talks between Pakistan and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) mission, the mission was briefed on the declaration of government employees' assets. The fourth review talks on the IMF's $7 billion loan programme were held with the Federal board of Revenue (FBR), the Establishment Division and the Finance Division.

The FBR briefed the mission on Customs and income tax matters through its policy wings. Sources told a private television channel that the mission was also briefed on the declaration of government employees' assets.

Secretary Establishment Division and Secretary Finance Division participated in the talks. The mission was informed that Pakistan had passed legislation concerning ...
