Pakistan, Sept. 24 -- IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva has praised Pakistan's economic reforms as fresh programme reviews begin. She said continued reforms could support faster growth and improve living standards.

In an interview, Georgieva highlighted progress in fiscal discipline and external financial reserves. She also pointed to stronger investor confidence and Pakistan's renewed access to international financial markets.

Georgieva said the reform programme had helped Pakistan maintain economic stability and rebuild confidence. Measures include a new national tariff system and increased domestic revenue mobilisation. Progress has also been reported in the privatisation process.
