Pakistan, April 9 -- The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Wednesday restrained the Capital Development Authority from carrying out any tree cutting along Ataturk Avenue, from Express Chowk to Agha Khan Road in the federal capital. Justice Khadim Hussain Soomro heard the case filed by a citizen, Ayesha Muzaffar. The petitioner was represented by Advocates Mudassar Latif Abbasi and Umair Asad.
During the hearing, the petitioner's counsel argued that despite a clear court order issued on January 15, 2026, restraining tree cutting in Islamabad, the CDA was continuing to remove trees under the pretext of road expansion.
