Pakistan, Sept. 1 -- WhatsApp is changing its two-step verification system by allowing users to protect accounts with passwords. The new option will replace the traditional six-digit PIN used by users. WhatsApp says the change will provide stronger protection against account hacking.

The new passwords will combine letters and numbers for better account security. Users who already use two-step verification can upgrade their existing protection. However, WhatsApp is introducing the feature gradually across its user base.
