Speaking in Singapore, he said ongoing talks with Tehran had been constructive. His remarks come as Washington pursues diplomacy while maintaining pressure over Iran's nuclear program.

Addressing journalists, Hegseth said Iran understood what was expected and reiterated that Tehran could not be allowed to obtain nuclear weapons. He added that the United States remained fully prepared for military action if diplomatic efforts failed.
