Pakistan, Sept. 6 -- Heavy rain accompanied by strong winds and thunderstorms lashed Lahore and other parts of Punjab on Sunday, bringing relief from days of intense heat and humidity. The rainfall also caused power disruptions in several areas.

In Lahore, rain continued across Mall Road, Abbott Road, Lakshmi Chowk, Canal Road, Gulberg, Liberty and Kalma Chowk. Residents welcomed the cooler weather, although electricity supplies were disrupted in different parts of the city.

Meanwhile, Muridke and nearby areas received heavy thunderstorms, providing relief from the hot and humid conditions. Several LESCO feeders had already tripped before the rain began, affecting electricity supplies.
