Pakistan, June 8 -- Karachi is set to face an intense heatwave this week, with temperatures expected to reach 42degC. The Pakistan Meteorological Department warned that extreme heat could affect daily life and public health. Residents across Karachi and Sindh, especially vulnerable groups, are expected to face the greatest impact.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department forecast severe heatwave conditions across most parts of Sindh from Monday to Friday. Officials said a high-pressure system in the upper atmosphere is driving the unusually hot weather. As a result, daytime temperatures are likely to remain four to six degrees above normal across the province.
