Pakistan, Aug. 28 -- The federal government has withdrawn the Pakistan Telecommunication Reorganisation Amendment Bill 2026 from the Senate. The decision followed concerns over the bill's pending status and legal deadline.
Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Talal Chaudhry moved the withdrawal motion on behalf of IT Minister Shaza Fatima Khawaja. The Senate accepted the government's request to return the bill. Consequently, the proposed legislation will not move forward in its current form.
