Pakistan, Aug. 20 -- The government on Wednesday announced a sharp reduction of Rs 32.63 per litre in the price of high-speed diesel (HSD), while petrol became costlier by Rs 2.97 per litre with effect from August 20, 2026.

According to a notification issued by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA), the price of HSD has been reduced from Rs 395.69 to Rs 363.06 per litre.

Meanwhile, the price of motor spirit (petrol) was increased from Rs 334.54 to Rs 337.51 per litre.

The new prices will remain in effect until today, in line with the government's ongoing practice of adjusting fuel prices based on international oil markets and other cost factors.
