Pakistan, Sept. 13 -- The government is considering a fuel relief scheme for motorcyclists as rising petrol prices increase pressure on household budgets. Under the initial proposal, each motorcyclist could receive Rs2,000 per month for three months. The Petroleum and Finance ministries are preparing the proposal on Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif's directives. Officials are still reviewing the scheme before making a final decision.

The proposed relief could reach motorcyclists through a dedicated fuel application. A monthly payment of Rs2,000 would allow each recipient to buy around five litres of petrol.
