Pakistan, Aug. 18 -- The government has approved major changes to Pakistan's electricity policy to strengthen energy security and economic competitiveness. The reforms cover tariffs, conservation, renewable power, cross-border trade and transmission expansion.

The Cabinet Committee on Energy, chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, approved amendments to the National Electricity Plan 2023-2027. The Power Division presented the amendments during a meeting at the Prime Minister's House in Islamabad.
