Pakistan, June 27 -- The government has increased the petroleum levy on petrol and diesel while keeping retail fuel prices unchanged for the next week. The revised levy raises additional revenue without changing pump prices. Consumers will continue paying the same prices despite the tax adjustment.

According to Petroleum Division sources, the levy on high-speed diesel has increased by Rs6.57 per litre. As a result, the total petroleum levy on diesel now stands at Rs79.54 per litre. Meanwhile, the levy on petrol has been raised by Rs0.39 per litre.
