Pakistan, Aug. 7 -- The government has reappointed National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) President and chief executive officer (CEO) Rehmat Ali Hasnie for an additional two weeks. The listed bank shared the development in a notice to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on Thursday.

"The Government of Pakistan, Finance Division, has reappointed Rehmat Ali Hasnie as President/CEO, National Bank of Pakistan, for a period of two weeks, w.e.f. August 07, 2026, or till the new President/CEO, NBP assumes office, whichever is earlier," read the notice. In July 2023, the Finance Division proposed Hasnie's name to the federal cabinet as the principal candidate for the permanent post of President/CEO of NBP for a period of three years.
